Why Pain-to-Wellness Support Centre?
Attending the Body Stress Release academy made me realize there is a new world to explore outside of the medical field, not as an alternative to the medical field, but as a complementary service.
At the Pain-to-Wellness Support Centre, the client's well-being is the priority, and therefore it is essential to not only focus on one aspect of healing but to look at the body as a unit.
The centre has taken hands with various providers, therapists, practitioners, doctors and counsellors to guide a client on the best possible journey to health.
The service provided at the centre focuses on a clients physical body. To release stored tension from the physical muscle structure and to address the nervous system under stress, which might have accumulated tension/stress due to traumatic events or store tension due to physical, chemical or emotional reasons.
With the network partners, the centre can guide a client in many other forms of healing. From doing cognitive work with a counsellor, looking at how your diet is influencing your health, all the way to exercising, or even the much-needed ETA scans
The health journey starts with a decision each of us has to make. To understand that resting is just as crucial as working or exercising. To realize that if I feel pain, my body needs help. Sometimes it will heal itself if given the time, and sometimes it needs some outside help to get back on the right track.
In a time where everything needs to be instant, you need to choose to allow your body to rest and recover so you can have the pleasure of having a healthy life.
HEALTH IS A JOURNEY
My Story
I got introduced to the fascinating world of complementary health in 2015 by my mother, who started practising BSR in Kimberley.
I used to struggle with an old shoulder injury (due to rugby) and have experienced many bumps and bruises because of doing a variety of physical work for some time. Pain in my body was something I was so used to; at times, the sensations were bearable, but at other times, pain medication was part of my daily diet.
I had the fantastic opportunity to attend the BSR academy and opened my practice in Bloemfontein in 2016.
Today I am a multi-skilled practitioner, able to provide and adapt to each client's needs, whether it is trauma release, blocked lymphatics, muscles pulling tight because of an injury or just plain old tension being locked into your body for whatever reason.
Seeing clients experience something they thought was never possible again brings so much joy. To see how they experience little to no pain, have better movement, to be able to do their laundry again, to have a more full-filled life because they can move with more ease and have more confidence in themself, just because they are not that dependent anymore.
Outside of practice, I enjoy my hobby of photography. I photograph various sports events, weddings or just a shoot in the studio. Seeing people accomplish their goals, having an unforgettable day at a wedding or celebrating graduation brings so much joy. But most of all, I enjoy being in the veld with my wife, capturing wildlife and nature, and enjoying what nature gives us all.
My Approach
Being a supporting centre for the medical field. None of the work done at the P2WS Centre is to replace medical advice or treatment. The centre stands firmly under the umbrella of being complementary and not alternative.
Every technique provided at the P2WS Centre is practised as a stand-alone technique, meaning sessions are technique specific.
Each client's medical history is recorded with the current pain and discomfort at the first session.
With every session, check-in is done to receive feedback from the client and to monitor progress.
During each visit, work done on the client is recorded to monitor progress. After each visit to the centre, feedback is given to the client on the findings during the session.
Maintenance sessions are highly advised. We all are exposed to a variety of daily stressors.
Helping your body to release stored tension regularly improves your quality of life. Allowing your body to look after itself so much easier.
The centre wants to work hand in hand with your medical provider and psychologist.
Helping you to experience relief of pain and discomfort faster. Quicker rehab from injury or operation.
Experience "that lift" from the emotional weight on your shoulders, feeling emotionally relieved. Helping your body to return to the 'rest and digest' state and not being constantly in the 'fight and flight' state.
You are being helped not just to have relief from pain and discomfort but also to work through trauma caught up in your body.
